Wildflower Conservation

The Wildflower Conservation Program began as a cooperative program with the Florida Wildflower Foundation, Santa Rosa County (SRC) Public Works and the Florida Department of Transportation in conserving wildflower populations along county and state roadways.  This SRC Wildflower Conservation Program became a project of the SRC Master Gardener Association upon the passage of the Wildflower Resolution on July 28, 2016, by the Board of County Commissioners.

In addition to the SRC Wildflower Conservation Project, this program is now involved in educating the public about local native wildflowers present in our area and using native Florida wildflowers in the home landscape.   Propagation of native wildflowers for use in our demonstration gardens and offered to the public at our plant sales is a newer feature of this program.
